A look back at NOSA’s 11 year history reveals a
steady stream of support by various individuals in industry and business. At the corporate level this sort of support has
helped keep NOSA up and running, continuing the important work of advocating the benefits of hunting, fishing and trapping
in the region.
One of the corporate backbones of the organization has undoubtedly been the Canadian Tire stores located
in Thunder Bay. With two locations, one at Arthur St. and the other at Fort William Rd., our members have always enjoyed a
reciprocal consumer relationship. And it is a pleasure to announce that both store locations have teamed up to sponsor a major
prize give away for our 2009 NOSA Dinner and Fundraiser. That’s right the two Canadian Tire stores in Thunder Bay have
generously donated a full size camouflaged model 4x4 All Terrain Vehicle that one of our lucky dinner guests will drive out of
the Davinci Center at the NOSA Dinner/Fundraiser to be held next April.

NOSA’s head office sent out tenders to all
the major dealerships in the Thunder Bay area to invite sponsorship of an ATV for our dinner event in 2009 and Canadian Tire
responded to the challenge in a big way.
Arthur St. store owner Bruce Stone explained to NOSA Executive Director John
Kaplanis that, “Canadian Tire recognizes the incredible value of the contributions that NOSA has made to the hunting
and fishing resource in the region and we appreciate serving NOSA members as our clientele.”
Without question,
Canadian Tire moves a lot of outdoor product through their doors during all 4 colorful seasons of the year and NOSA is proud
to promote the patronage of this important retail operation here in Thunder Bay.
Fort William Road store General Manager
James Iannetti says, “The importance of hunting and fishing in the region becomes very obvious to us when our retail
sales of outdoor products is as high as it is in our Thunder Bay stores.” And James would know a thing or two about
hunting and fishing, since he grew up in Cape Breton around these activities. James enjoys living and working in the Thunder
Bay area now and he says he’s looking forward to getting out to do some ice fishing this winter.
NOSA is proud of the
sponsorship arrangement with Canadian Tire and looks forward to continuing this positive relationship with a corporate giant
that doesn’t hesitate to step to the forefront to support our outdoor heritage.
